Welcome to the Zhou Laboratory
Cellular Reprogramming and Cardiac Regeneration
Our lab is focused on using a collection of genetic and genomic tools, and cellular reprogramming technology to:
to understand how cardiomyocytes are induced, how they mature, and maintain their cell fate identity
to generate human disease model and develop therapeutic strategies for heart repair
Read our current research paper dissecting single-cell transcriptome during direct cardiac reprogramming in human cells (Cell Stem Cell, 2019).
A step-by-step protocol to generate human cardiomyocytes from fibroblasts (STAR Protocol, 2020).
A review highlighting the application of single-cell RNA sequencing technology in cardiovascular research (Circulation, 2020).
Recently, we have identified TBX20 as the key missing transcription factor in existing cocktails for direct cardiac reprogramming of human fibroblasts (Circulation, 2022).
“We are always interested to hear from students, peers, and potential collaborators.”
